HexyYoJoy Christmas Ornament Pattern

The HexyYoJo pattern is a great way to use scraps and make festive decorations or a garland. Made using folded hexagons and yo-yo's and super fun to make.

Supplies required:
  • Fabric - a mix of prints. 6½", 5½" and 3" circles will be cut.
  • Thread - 50wt thread or any thread you’d like to sew through cotton, thicker thread; Perle cotton or similar for stringing the garland (a couple of metres)
  • Needles - Milliner or similar, a longer needle like a sashiko or redwork embroidery needle they can be useful to sew the hexagons together and string the garland
  • Ribbon - to hang up the ornaments, about ⅛-¼" wide, 6" per hanging ornament
  • Felt Beads - approximately ¼-½" in size for the garland, depending on the length of the garland as to how many will be needed, 10-20
  • Glu-stick or applique glue


  • A Clover Quick Yo-Yo Maker (Small, Green) can be used to make the 3 yo-yos" for this project.
